Outlook Express:

1. Open your Outlook Express.

2. Right click on the E-Mail whose headers you want to view, a drop down menu will appear.

3. From the menu, choose “Properties”.

  1. Click on the “Detail” tab and you will be able to see the E-Mail header.

Microsoft Outlook 2002/2003/2007:

1. Select the email and Right-click the message without opening it, then click “Options” from the drop-down menu.

2. A box called “Message Options” pops up.

  1. Near the bottom of the box you’ll see a text area titled “Internet headers”.
  1. Highlight the contents, then right-click. You can copy the headers and paste them into an email message or another application.

Microsoft Outlook 2010:

  1. Select the email and Double-click to open the email in a new window.
  1. Click on the File Button, Select Info Ribbon and click on the Properties.
  1. You’ll get your Email Header in the Internet headers section.

Microsoft Outlook 2013:

 

  1. Select the email and Double-click to open the email in a new window.

 

  1. Click the ribbon.
  1.  You will get the email header as below image.
  1. If you can’t find the ribbon, kindly follow below step. Open email in new windows, click FILE,
  1. Click the Properties.
  1. Once click Properties, will get the email header.

Mozilla Thunderbird:

  1. Select the email and Double-click to open the email in a new window.
  1. Go to View and click Message Source and one more new window will popped out.
  1. Copy the full email header content and paste it on a email or another application.

 

Windows Live Hotmail/MSN:

Note: This article is refer to Windows Live Hotmail Full version.

  1. Right click on the closed E-Mail and a drop down menu will appear.
  1. Choose View Source on the drop down menu.
  1. E-Mail header information will show in new Windows.

GMail:

  1. Log into your GMail Account.
  1. Open the E-Mail whose headers you want to view.
  1. You will see “Reply” button on top right of the message pane.
  1. Click on the little arrow pointing down next to “Reply”.
  1. Select on “Show original” as images above and the E-Mail header will show in new Windows.

Yahoo! Mail:

  1. Log into your Yahoo! E-Mail account.
  1. Open the E-Mail whose headers you want to view.
  1. Scroll down to the bottom right of the E-Mail, select on “Full Headers”.
  1. E-Mail header information will show in new Windows.

Apple Mail:

  1. Click at the selected email.
  1. Click at View > Message > Long Headers
  1. Copy the entire information and paste it at notepad for us to analyze.

How to setup email account for iPhone :

1. Select Settings from the home screen of your iPhone

2. Choose Passwords & Accounts.

In the New Account menu, you will need to specify the following records:

Name: your name, it will appear as a sender name
Address: your full email address
Password: password of this email address
Description: you can specify any description. But we advise you to specify your email address

7. Select protocol type: IMAP or POP3. We will show the sample of using IMAP. The selected one will be highlighted in blue.new account

8. Settings are equal both for IMAP and POP3 on this step:

The fields: Name, Address and Description should have been already filled in due to your previous setting.

Host name: mail.yourdomain.com
User Name: your email address.
Password: password for your email.

9. Click on Next.

 

10.When the check is finished, you will be redirected to IMAP / POP3 settings and click on Save.

11. In order to set up additional settings for mail accounts, you need to return in previous menu Passwords & Accounts and click on your newly created accounts.

12. Click your newly created account and go to Account Info. Scroll down the screen and select Advanced:

As for the incoming and outgoing Host Name, may use the server host name

(may find the server hostname from https://intodns.com/ -> MX -> server hostname)

In the below example the server hostname shall be larva.mschosting.com

13. You will be able to choose additional settings for IMAP or POP3:

If you set IMAP connection, you need to use the port 993 and toggle SSL while leaving the IMAP Path Prefix field empty.

If you choose POP3 connection, you need to use the port 995 and toggle SSL while leaving the POP3 Path Prefix field empty.

14. In order to set up settings for Outgoing Server, you will need to enter the Outgoing Mail Server via clicking on the SMTP setting and then click on Primary Server. Please toggle the Use SSL and ensure that the port used is 465.

A read receipt is an email notification delivered when a recipient opens (to read) an email you send. The receipt confirms that the recipient acknowledged your message and records the time.

Below are the steps how the request will be sent:

If you request a read receipt, request will be sent to every recipient in the To:and Cc: fields.

1. Compose a message as usual while using the desktop version of Gmail at mail.google.com.

2. Click the More options icon in the compose window.menu bar

3. Click Request read receipt.

4. Send your message.

Below are the steps on how to return:

1. Open and read the message as usual while using the desktop version of Gmail at mail.google.com.

2. When you close the message or navigate away from it, you will be prompted.
